Kurzweil – CS Spring 2017 Week 5

This challenge was suggested by Rachael Brown

Kurzweil has changed quite a bit this year with the latest update. For this challenge, scan three pages of a book (a novel style without figures or footnotes works best) and create two audio files. Each audio file should feature a different speaker, and a different reading speed (WPM). Feel free to try a book in a different language (just ensure that the program is capable of recognizing the language you choose!

Kurzweil is available on all main lab stations, as well as the AT stations in the AT room, DMC, and classroom.

How to guide is attached.

The deadline for full points is Tuesday June 20th

I scanned Freedom by Jonathan Franzen.
Heather at 165wpm
Tracy at 145wpm

I noticed slight differences in reading styles in the output audio and the in-program audio. For example, in the in-program audio, there is a significant pause, as there should be, after the title of the chapter. In the output file, however, the title and the first line are read out as a single line.
