This was my first semester working at The Commons, and it has been great, learning-wise. I didn’t get many chances to interact with clients and help resolve their issues or answer their questions. But the few chances that I did get, I made it a point to provide the clients with quality customer service.
I helped a client with her video project in the DMC. She was working on an animated educational video for children, using Adobe After Effects. I helped her with the technical difficulties she faced with After Effects. Apart from that, I also answered some questions she had regarding ideas and concepts that she could use to make the videos more appealing to children while also being educational. I helped her create basic animations using sprite images, and lip-syncing cartoon mouths to speech. I never found out how her project turned out in the end, but she was very surprised at how simple basic animations are and was thrilled to implement what she had learned into her project.
For me, that experience was very exciting and I’m looking forward to more opportunities to help out clients in the next semester.
