Student surveys have taught us that our tutoring services are one of our best, but least known, services. How would you market our tutoring program to MUN students, staff, and faculty?
I agree with Raahyma Ahmad , mostly students go towards the bigger signs as they seem more important then the smaller ones. We should also continue to make our social media better, by getting a bigger audience, by Instagram and other social media tools. Also we should let the whole university professors and TA’s know about our services. Everyone uses my.mun.ca, and D2L/Bright-space so we can also add a bold link, or an image onto the area which shows our services.
Yesterday I had gone to the spring convocation and there I met a few of the graduating class and they were discussing about a place where they can take passport sized photo’s. When I told them that DMC has these services they were all shocked that none of them knew about it. And one of the students told me that they paid someone $30 per hour to help them edit their Thesis papers and to learn how to format it. They had no idea about our Free MS Office one-on-one tutoring services. So I think that we should hold a training day or something else for all professors, just to give them a heads up about our services.
